Organisational chart

Member unions (Medlemskårerna)

GUS is a collaboratory body between the Student unions at the University of Gothenburg: Göta student Union, GUDK, The Sahlgrenska academy student’s union (SAKS), Konstkåren and The school of business and economics student union (HHGS).

The board (Styrelsen)

GUS board consists of representatives from the four member unions. The mandates are based on the unions size and adjusted so no union has majority. Six mandates are allocated to Göta, three to SAKS, three to HHGS and one to Konstkåren. The board has overall responsibility for the entire organisation and is GUS’ highest deciding body.

The council (Rådet)

GUS’ council is a forum for discussion for GUS and its member unions regarding student and union political issues. For example, here referrals from the university is often discussed. If the council is unable to reach consensus the board has the final resolving say.

Election committee (Valberedningen)

GUS’ election committee is elected by the board and prepares the election of candidates to GUS’s positions and the student representative positions at a central level.

Presidium

GUS’ presidium consist of a chair and a vice chair. These are students elected to positions of trust by the board with a mandate period of one year.
