Gunnar Svedberg's award
The Gunnar Svedberg award is awarded to a student whom has worked for the betterment of the students at the University of Gothenburg and preferably increased the cooperation between students at different parts of the university.
History and Background
Gunnar Svedberg was vice-chancellor at the University of Gothenburg between 2003-2006. The award was instated with special consideration on the focus and compassion Gunnar Svedberg showed students in his work.
Everyone, both students and staff, at the University of Gothenburg has the right to nominate recipients. All students at the university can be nominated. The prize, which consists of 10,000 kr and a diploma, is awarded during the univeristy’s doctoral promotion ceremony in October.
GUS’ board opens for nominations during the spring semester. Nominations are sent to the board who then through decision recommend the university board to take the final formal decision regarding the recipient
